Which passport box is which pixel count
US is 600×600, a 2×2 inch square at 300 DPI. UK, Schengen, Australia, Japan, and India share the 35×45 mm frame at 413×531. Canada is 591×827. China is 390×567.
Those boxes are not the same shape. Stretching a portrait to fill 413×531 or 591×827 changes head proportions. Many photo rules reject a distorted face.
A finished 600×600 US file does not fill 413×531. Pick the country row and stretch that box only. This page does not remove the background or measure the head.
How to set a passport print frame
This page only stretches the picture onto a print box at 300 DPI. It does not place the face, change the background, or check a government’s photo rules.
- Step 1
Open the portrait
Use a straight-on photo. The tool will not crop to a head size for you. If the face is already the wrong size in the frame, fix that before you stretch.
- Step 2
Pick one country box
US passport on this page is 600×600 px (2×2 in at 300 DPI). The 35×45 mm frame used for UK, Schengen, Australia, Japan, and India is 413×531. Canada is 591×827 (50×70 mm). China is 390×567 (33×48 mm).
- Step 3
Stop if the face changes shape
These boxes are not the same shape. Stretching a 600×600 portrait down into 413×531 changes head proportions. Many photo rules reject a distorted face. Crop or retake instead of forcing the fill.
- Step 4
Download the one box you chose
PNG keeps edges harder for a later print. A 2×2 US file does not fill 35×45 mm. Export only the row you selected.
Passport print boxes on this page
Four frames. None of them is a social 1080 size, and none of them checks your photo.
US 2×2
600×600 px at 300 DPI. A square. A 35×45 mm file will not fill it.
35×45 mm
413×531 px. The row labeled for UK, Schengen, Australia, Japan, and India on this chart. Taller than the US square.
Canada 50×70 mm
591×827 px. Taller again. A US square stretched to this height lengthens the face.
China 33×48 mm
390×567 px. Its own box. Do not assume it matches 35×45 mm.
What this page refuses to do
It does not measure the face, set a white or off-white background, or tell you a government will accept the file. It sets the print frame only.
Why stretch for Passport with ImageStretcher
Four print boxes
A US passport photo here is 600×600 px (2×2 in). The 35×45 mm frame is 413×531. Canada is 591×827. China is 390×567. Each is 300 DPI.
Stretching changes the face
These boxes are not the same shape. Stretching a portrait to fill a taller frame changes head proportions. Many photo rules reject a distorted face.
This page only sets the frame
The tool fills the print size. It does not place the face, set the background, or check a government’s photo rules.
One photo, one country box
A 2×2 US file does not fill a 35×45 mm frame. Pick the country size and stretch that box only.
Formats and limits for Passport stretching
Download PNG for a passport print frame. JPEG blocks show on a face. Export one box — 600×600, 413×531, 591×827, or 390×567 — not all four from one stretch.
If the print shop asked for a flat file at 600×600 or 413×531, PNG keeps a plain background cleaner than JPEG.
591×827 does not become 390×567 by a uniform scale. One country box per export, and neither file checks a face rule.
The US square is the odd one out
US at 600×600 is a square. The 35×45 mm frame at 413×531 is taller, and so are Canada at 591×827 and China at 390×567. Those three are still not the same shape, and stretching a face to fill them changes the head.
Nothing on this chart is a wide landscape. A finished US square does not fill 413×531, and this page does not measure the head.
Passport print frames at 300 DPI
- Which passport sizes can I stretch on this page?
- US passport (600×600 px), 35×45 mm (413×531 px), Canada passport (591×827 px), and China passport (390×567 px), each at 300 DPI. Pick one and download. The tool fills the print frame; it does not check a government's face or background rules.
- Will stretching a passport photo pass the photo rules?
- No. Stretching changes the face when the boxes differ. This page does not check head size, background, or glasses.
- Are UK and US the same pixels here?
- No. US is 600×600. The 35×45 mm frame, including the UK row, is 413×531.
- Is 35×45 mm the same file as China 33×48 mm?
- No. 35×45 mm is 413×531. China is 390×567. Both are 300 DPI and they are not equal.
- What should I download for a passport print frame?
- PNG, so a later print does not add JPEG blocks across the face. Export only the country row you selected.
