What a 380×1200 cover does that a 1200×480 banner does not

The channel cover is 380 wide and 1200 tall. The banner is 1200 wide and 480 tall. Stretching one into the other flips the picture.

Panels are 320×160, a short strip under the stream. The offline banner is 1920×1080. The thumbnail is 1280×720. The profile picture is 800×800.

Emotes and channel points are 112×112. Badges and sub badges are 72×72. A face that works on the 1920×1080 offline banner does not survive 72×72.

How to stretch an image for a Twitch frame

Twitch panels, emotes, and the channel banner live at very different sizes. An emote stretched up to the offline banner becomes a blur.

  1. Step 1

Open the art at its real size

Emotes and badges on this page are 112×112 and 72×72. Draw or export those from a sharp master, then stretch only if the master’s shape is wrong.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the Twitch row

Panel is 320×160. Channel banner and profile banner are 1200×480. Offline banner is 1920×1080. Thumbnail is 1280×720. Profile is 800×800. Emote and channel points are 112×112. Badge and sub badge are 72×72. Channel cover is 380×1200.

  3. Step 3

    Panels are a strip

320×160 is twice as wide as it is tall. A square logo stretched into a panel becomes a wide wordmark. Leave padding so the panel border does not clip it.

  4. Step 4

Do not scale the emote into the banner

Download the 112×112 emote as PNG. Download the 1920×1080 offline screen as its own file, JPEG if it is a scene.

Twitch pieces that break if you reuse one export

Small UI art and the channel scene are separate jobs.

  • Emote and channel points

Both are 112×112. They sit in chat at a small size. Stretching a photo into that square makes a muddy face.

  • Badges

Badge and sub badge are 72×72. Even smaller than the emote. Use a simple shape.

  • Panels

320×160. About the panels under the stream. A 16:9 thumbnail will not drop in.

  • Banners and offline

Channel banner and profile banner are 1200×480. Offline banner is 1920×1080. The offline screen is a normal widescreen; the banner is a short strip.

  • Channel cover

380×1200 is a tall strip, the odd one out. A banner stretched into it becomes a column.

Why stretch for Twitch with ImageStretcher

  • Panels are short tiles

A panel is 320×160 and stacks under the player. A channel banner is 1200×480. Those are two different strips.

  • Offline art replaces the player

The offline banner is 1920×1080 and fills the player when the channel is offline. It is not the 1200×480 channel banner.

  • Emotes shrink in chat

Emotes are 112×112 and sub badges are 72×72. Twitch draws them even smaller in chat, so a busy picture will not read.

  • The channel cover is a sidebar

The channel cover is 380×1200, a vertical bar. No other size on this page uses that shape.

Formats and limits for Twitch stretching

Download PNG for Twitch emotes, badges, and panels. Download JPEG for a 1920×1080 offline banner or a 1280×720 thumbnail that is a photo.

Panels, emotes, and the 72×72 badge are flat art and belong in PNG. A photographic offline banner at 1920×1080 or a thumbnail at 1280×720 can be JPEG.

Scaling the 1200×480 banner will not produce the 380×1200 cover.

The cover is not a rotated banner

These two versions of the same drawing are the banner and the channel cover. Scaling one until it matches the other flips the picture.

A panel is 320×160, which is 2:1. The banner is 2.5:1, so scaling it misses the panel. The thumbnail is 1280×720, and the offline screen is 1920×1080.
